A journalist has been explaining why Chelsea’s excessive spending has proven hindering for Enzo Maresca with plans for new fire sales.
Chelsea have been signing up all the new players and have even confirmed two more new signings that will be completed down the line, with two youngsters arriving from Sporting soon.
And the spending will not be stopping there, and as well as that, we are also starting to hear a lot about how the club will be looking to sell a lot of current players in order to help fund the new signings as well as make room for them.
So we are in for another busy summer at the club in terms of transfers, but one journalist believes that all the big spending and player turnover is actually hindering Enzo Maresca so far at the club.

Ryan Taylor of The Daily Mirror says today:
‘While Maresca is certainly not immune from criticism, Chelsea have made steady progress under his reign and undeniably, there are limitations of working within the club’s current model given there is such a high turnover of players.
‘There can be no doubt Clearlake Capital’s excessive spending has proven hindering and it would be unfair to pass judgement on Maresca until he has a world-class goalkeeper, central defender and striker at his disposal.
‘Sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart will be tasked with overseeing an end-of-season fire-sale to help fund the arrivals of those key, marquee additions this summer.’
He also speaks on objectives and also the fact that the home fans are not taking to Maresca so far. Taylor continues:
‘Chelsea have two objectives this season, secure Champions League qualification and win the UEFA Conference League.
‘The home atmosphere has become notably flat at Stamford Bridge in recent months and the issue is becoming a real problem for Maresca as there is a clear disconnect between supporters and a team seemingly starved of imagination and expression.’
