According to one journalist this week, a club are looking to sign one Chelsea player in time to face them at the Club World Cup.
The new comes after Chelsea beat Premier League winners Liverpool 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon in what was a fantastic overall performance by The Blues.
Cole Palmer was back in fine form for Chelsea and is one of the reasons that they put in such a good performance, with the stats proving this as well.
Palmer was also involved in Chelsea’s first goal of the game in the opening minutes, as well as some good work by Romeo Lavia and Pedro Neto to setup Enzo Fernandez to provide a lovely finish to get things going.
It’s controversial because of player welfare and them not really getting a proper break at the end of a gruelling season, but the next Club World Cup is incoming next month, and Chelsea are very much in it.
The Blues will be taking it seriously due to the amount of prize money you can win, and clubs involved in the competition will be looking to get some quick transfer deals done before it starts.

Chelsea attacker Joao Felix could end up featuring for Flamengo against Chelsea in the CWC, because they are keen on signing him.
Journalist Ben Jacobs posts on X:
‘Flamengo are interested in signing Joao Felix in time for the Club World Cup in a potential move that could see him come up against Chelsea in the tournament. Talks with player side are exploratory. Chelsea would consider sanctioning a loan on the right terms. Also open to permanent offers, but no cut-price sale as Chelsea want to avoid making a book loss. Milan won’t try to sign Felix.’
