When has Duncan Castles ever had anything good to say about Manchester United since the day Jose Mourinho was sacked? I’ll leave you ponder that one before getting your head around a snippet from one of his recent podcasts.

Jadon Sancho has already become a victim at Old Trafford following his summer switch from Borussia Dortmund. After being on United’s radar for several years, high expectations came with his mega money transfer, but realistically every signing needs time to adapt and not every signing is Bruno Fernandes in terms of hitting the ground running.

The Mirror has cited Duncan Castles on The Transfer Window Podcast as saying ‘there are growing concerns within the club’s squad that Sancho is struggling to adapt to the demands of the Premier League.’ He adds that ‘internally, Sancho’s efforts and attitude in training are being questioned.’

My biggest problem here, is, there can’t be many United players stood in that dressing room looking too smug right now and think it’s okay to slam a new signing, who is still a kid, after how we’ve started the season.

You’ve got to remember how Sancho is still a young player — not completely blossomed — and he’s made the jump from Bundesliga, where he was considered one of the league’s best players, to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has struggled to have the impact that both he and United aimed for, but everyone should remain patient even if Sancho has failed to score or register an assist in 10 appearances.
