L’Équipe report today that French defensive midfielder Josuha Guilavogui is set to leave Wolfsburg this month on a free transfer, to join fellow Bundesliga side Stuttgart.

The 32-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the year, and he has now agreed a contract with the Swabians for a stay of two and a half years. Talks are still ongoing between the two clubs.

The former French international has made ten appearances this season, having spent the latter half of last season on loan at Bordeaux, with whom he suffered relegation after finishing rock bottom of Ligue 1.

Save for his brief stint in the Gironde, he has been with Wolfsburg since 2014, making a total of 241 appearances since moving from Atlético Madrid, who had loaned him out to formative club Saint-Étienne. This summer, Guilavogui had reportedly attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, as well as from other Bundesliga clubs.
