Bayern Munich have announced that midfielder Joshua Kimmich will take a break for the next few days due to an injury picked up at the weekend.
Kimmich was substituted off just before half-time in Bayern’s 4-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday. The diagnosis has revealed that the midfielder is suffering from tendonitis and will take a break over the next few days.
Sky Germany reports that Kimmich wants to be fit in time to face former club VfB Stuttgart on Friday, but with Bayern’s Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen on the horizon next week, die Rekordmeister will not be taking any risks with the 30-year-old.
In Kimmich’s absence, Leon Goretzka or João Palhinha can partner Aleksandar Pavlovic in midfield. The former replaced Kimmich when he was substituted off in the first half, while the latter has struggled this season due to injuries and missed the game against Frankfurt due to illness.
