Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez is on the verge of joining Inter and will undergo medical tests with the Nerazzurri over the next few days.
Spanish goalkeeper Martinez will undergo his medical with Inter over the next few days before completing a permanent €13m transfer.
La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com report that Martinez’s medical have been postponed as the Spaniard was expected to undergo examinations today.
However, the deal is not in danger of collapsing, so the 26-year-old will soon move to the Stadio Meazza.
Martinez is Inter’s third summer signing after Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski, who will soon be announced by the Serie A champions. Both players will complete a permanent transfer to the Stadio Meazza.
Martinez will be Inter’s second-choice goalkeeper in 2024-25 but Inter hope he will gain experience by working with Yan Sommer this season, becoming the starting goalkeeper from 2025-26.
Martinez spent the last two seasons at Genoa, conceding 68 goals in 68 appearances in Serie A, Serie B and Coppa Italia.
