Things have been going very smoothly for Real Madrid despite having a couple of key players injured. They already have one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals after they beat RB Leipzig 1-0 in an away clash. Their next test is against Rayo Vallecano in the domestic league this weekend.

The Whites are the La Liga table toppers with 61 points after 24 rounds of play. With five points ahead in the competition, they are marching towards another league title. They will be eager to secure all three points and leave no opportunity for rivals to catch up.

Defence

Andriy Lunin will be the man with gloves for Real Madrid. He performed brilliantly against RB Leipzig last week to keep a clean sheet. Fair to say that he has filled the absence of Thibaut Courtois to a great extent. After having an average game at the centre of defence, Dani Carvajal is likely to get back to his right-back position.

Aurelien Tchouameni has stunned everyone with his impressive performances as a centre-back. He is likely to pair up with Nacho Fernandez and form the heart of the defence. Nacho will retain his position in the side as Antonio Rudiger is yet to recover fully.

Fran Garcia is expected to get a start at the left-back position as Ferland Mendy is suspended.

Midfield

While Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde are likely to retain their positions, Luka Modric can make a rare start in the midfield. He will replace Toni Kroos, who had a decent outing in the previous game.

The trio will have the support of Brahim Diaz in front of them. Diaz produced a magical goal against RB Leipzig and helped his side register a win in the absence of Jude Bellingham.

Attack

Vinicius Junior and Joselu should be deployed in the most attacking positions. Vinicius has been in terrific form this year and will be expected to keep performing like this. Joselu, on the other hand, scored twice in his last start. He should be given the nod ahead of Rodrygo in the starting line-up.
