Fans lash out as Tottenham lose 3-1 to Leeds United at Elland Road

Tottenham Hotspur’s top-four hopes breathed their last this weekend as the team succumbed to a disappointing 3-1 loss to Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.

Coming into the game with just a five-point deficit to Chelsea in fourth place, Tottenham had an excellent chance to cut down the gap, especially with the Blues playing Manchester City later tonight. However, a poor display saw us fall to a humbling defeat against the Whites, who returned to the Premier League this term after 16 years.

Stuart Dallas handed Leeds the lead just thirteen minutes into the game, ringing alarm bells for Tottenham. However, Son Heung-min managed to pull us back on level terms twelve minutes later. Harry Kane then had a goal ruled out for offside before Patrick Bamford put the home team in front again in the 42nd minute.

There were a few bright spots after the break with Kane coming close twice and Giovani Lo Celso also forcing a save from Illan Meslier. However, Leeds continued to create the better of the opportunities, one of which Rodrigo Moreno converted in the 84th minute to put the game to bed.

The scoreline could have been much more lopsided if not for Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris in goal. And the fans were furious after the result, slamming the players for their performance at Elland Road. Here are some of the reactions from the Spurs’ supporters.
