Turkish giants Fenerbahçe have this weekend been linked with an audacious move for a headline member of the attacking ranks at Barcelona.

As much, of course, comes amid mounting excitement amongst all of a Fenerbahçe persuasion, with a view to next season..

The Istanbul-based club have taken their place front and centre in the headlines across all of Europe this week.

This comes ahead of the imminent appointment of the legendary José Mourinho on the touchline at The Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

Portuguese tactician Mourinho is understood to have come to an agreement on the terms of a contract, to take up the reins at Fener this summer.

Eager to provide their incoming manager with all of the tools he requires to succeed, Sarı Kanaryalar’s board, in turn, have already begun work towards adding to the options set to be at Mourinho’s disposal.

And one such player in the sights of Fenerbahçe, according to reports, is Robert Lewandowski.

As revealed by Turkish transfer insider Ertan Süzgün, ‘contact has been made with Barcelona’, over a potential deal for frontman Lewandowski.

The operation is considered a complicated one for a number of reasons, chiefly financial, but Fener, it is assured, are ready to ‘push’ the issue over the weeks ahead.
