José Mourinho on links with Brazil: “I don’t know if it’s true or not” | OneFootball

Roma head coach José Mourinho has on Wednesday provided a fresh insight into his future at the clbu.

Mourinho of course guided his side back into action a short time ago, welcoming Cremonese to the Stadio Olimpico for a Coppa Italia Last-16 clash.

Despite something of a scare by way of Frank Tsadjout’s opener for Cremonese, Roma ultimately got the job done, after Romelu Lukaku’s equaliser was added to by Paulo Dybala late on.

Speaking to the media post-match, José Mourinho was in turn drawn on a whole host of topics, largely surrounding the Giallorossi’s comeback victory.

Also on the agenda, though, was the Portuguese’s future.

The subject of Mourinho’s plans beyond the summer has long taken its place centre stage in the headlines in Italy’s capital, ahead of the imminent expiration of his contract.

If the latest comments on the part of the former Chelsea and Real Madrid headmaster are anything to go by, though, then a resolution appears to remain some way off.

“On a new coach coming to Roma, I don’t think that’s true,” Mourinho began, as cited by TuttomercatoWeb. “I have no reason to think that our ownership is not as honest as I am, I trust their honesty 100%, then this doesn’t mean that they want me here. I don’t think they talk to other coaches behind my back, but I haven’t signed yet.”

From here, Roma’s boss was also drawn on recent speculation linking him with the Brazil national team post, but was quick to stop such rumours dead in their tracks:

“About Brazil I don’t know if it’s true or not, they didn’t talk to me, I told my agent that until we know that a club is interested, he shouldn’t talk to anyone while I’m here.”
