A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has made his way back onto the radar of one of Turkish football’s leading clubs.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Ansu Fati as the player in question.
The name of wide-man Ansu has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across much of the summer to date.
This comes amid long-standing uncertainty surrounding the place of the 21-year-old in the plans of new Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick.
Fresh off an altogether underwhelming loan stint in England with Brighton & Hove Albion, it had been suggested, prior to a recent injury setback, that Ansu was winning the battle to convince the latest installation on the Camp Nou touchline of his readiness to contribute this season.
More recent reports, however, have cast fresh doubt on as much.
Amid the suggestion that Ansu is more out than in at Barcelona at present, the aforementioned Sport have confirmed that Fenerbahçe have reemerged as a leading suitor for his signature:
‘Fenerbahçe are trying to move forward to secure the loan of Ansu Fati until the end of the season. The player is very much liked by Jose Mourinho and they have already contacted his agent, Jorge Mendes, to assess the possibilities of the player’s loan.’
It now remains to be seen whether or not Mourinho and co. can convince the Spanish international of the merits of a move to Istanbul, with Sevilla, amongst a number of other clubs, also in the hunt for Ansu’s services.
