Jose Mourinho keen to loan out Oliver Skipp

According to a report from Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho wants to loan out midfield starlet Oliver Skipp this summer, following the arrival of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The 19-year-old Skipp came through the youth ranks at the club and made his senior debut in 2018. Till date, he has made 23 first-team appearances, in which he has registered two assists. 11 of his 23 senior appearances came in the recently concluded 2019/20 season.

Mourinho clearly rates Skipp highly, having tipped him to become a club captain in the future. And the Portuguese has claimed in the past that he does not want him to leave on loan. (h/t Football.london)

However, the manager seems to have now changed his stance though. As per the aforementioned report, Mourinho is now intent on letting the 19-year-old leave on loan for the upcoming campaign. (h/t Football.london)

This is due to the recent arrival of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The Danish international joined from Southampton earlier this week, bolstering our midfield department further.

Mourinho already has the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele as options in the middle. And with Hojbjerg also arriving, Skipp’s chances of regular first-team action plummeted further.

So, it makes sense that the manager wants the youngster to go out on a temporary spell and gather some valuable experience. Troy Parrott has already left on loan, joining Millwall. Soon enough, Skipp, too, could be headed for a short-term exit.
