José Juan Macías made his return to Mexican football when he came off the bench during Chivas’ defeat away to León on Saturday.
Against the run of play, Osvaldo Rodríguez popped up for the hosts deep into stoppage time to win the game but it didn’t dampen the 22-year-old striker’s spirits.
“It was not the result we deserved, but this is the way it goes,” said the Mexico International.
“What a joy to play with a Chivas that has a purpose, that works on a game idea, that seeks to play football.
“It is time to have faith. I’ll fight to the death for this team and coaching staff.”
Chivas host Liga MX Clausura leaders Puebla on Saturday in a game in which Macías is expected to make his first start since his return from his loan spell in Spain.
