Chivas manager José Cardozo did not appear alarmed after falling 3-1 at the Hidalgo Stadium on Saturday night.

The former Paraguay international is determined to use the defeat as a learning experience for the remainder of the Clausura 2019.

The Sacred Flock did not stay mentally focused for the whole 90 minutes against Pachuca and the match got away from them in the second half.

This situation was not a cause for panic for Cardozo, however, who saw positives to take and lessons to draw from the defeat.

“It was an intense game, we knew it was going to be back and forth, where we could not drop concentration; that disorder often leads to defeat.”

The 47-year-old manager gave credit to the performance of his opponents.

“Pachuca was the just winner, they made the attacks and scored the goals. We tried to create what we wanted and we had several opportunities but we did not get it,” he said.

Guadalajara’s manager stressed the positive aspects as he looks ahead on the rest of the Clausura.

“This defeat will serve us to be stronger, to continue growing as a team and fighting to enter the Liguilla, which is our goal.”

After matchday 8, fourth-placed Chivas are five points behind Tigres UANL at the top of the Liga MX table but comfortably within the Liguilla qualification zone.
