The last couple of weeks have been tough for Arsenal and their fans. First, they dropped three vital points against Aston Villa in the Premier League. Next, they faced a 1-0 defeat in the second leg at the hands of Bayern Munich and crashed out of the UEFA Champions League.

Though the Gunners returned to winning ways by beating Wolves 2-0 on Saturday night, they are still stuck in a tricky situation. They need to win their remaining games while praying the arch-rivals drop points. Arsenal next lock horns with Chelsea this midweek.

Defence

David Raya has been the primary goalkeeper for Arsenal this season. Hence, he will be seen playing between the sticks without any doubt. Left-back Ben White should be continued as he has been contributing well in both defensive and attacking aspects of the game.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are set to form the heart of the defence yet again. It will be interesting to see how they nullify the Blues’ offensive line. Though Jakub Kiwior looked a bit shaky in the previous game, he is unlikely to be benched.

Midfield

Jorginho should return to the midfield and play in a deeper role to allow his teammates to function higher up on the pitch. Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard are the other two expected midfielders for the Gunners.

Attack

Jorginho’s return in midfield means Kai Havertz will also return to his original place. He will be lined up in the middle and coordinate with the wingers to create threats. While Bukayo Saka remains an undisputed pick for the right flank, Leandro Trossard is also confirmed to be deployed on the left wing. It means Gabriel Jesus will again start on the bench.

Jurrien Timber is the only miss for Mikel Arteta’s side for this clash due to a knee injury.
