Chelsea entertained Malmo at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they focussed on securing all three points in front of their home supporters. The Blues made an electric start to the game as they took the lead in the ninth minute when Andreas Christensen scored from close range. Jorginho doubled Chelsea’s advantage from the penalty spot in the 21st minute. Thomas Tuchel’s men sat on their lead well and went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.
Kai Havertz got his name on the scoresheet just three minutes into the second half before Jorginho once again scored from another penalty to kill the game off. The Blues cruised to a dominant 4-0 win at the English capital.
Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the match against Malmo.
Mendy did not have a save to make in the game and earned a comfortable clean sheet at home.
He kept a good defensive shape at the back and gave Chelsea the lead with a well-directed finish from close range.
Silva didn’t put a foot wrong when defending inside his half and even got an assist to his name.
The German defensive ace cleared his lines when required and passed the ball relatively well from the back.

The Spaniard did his fair share of defending but failed to influence the game in the attacking third. He got replaced after the hour mark.
Kante controlled the game well in midfield and created two key chances in the final third.
The Italian sensation deserves credit for successfully converting two penalties during the game. He also offered decent defensive protection from his teammates at the back.
Chilwell got stuck with some crunching tackles and was quite lively on the ball. However, there was no goal or assist for him tonight.
The English playmaker created some meaningful openings for others around him but was wasteful with his shot attempts.
He had to go off with an injury in the 43rd minute.
The Belgian international began the game well but was forced off with an injury in the 22nd minute.
Havertz was a constant menace in the Malmo half and managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the 48th minute.
He came on to replace Werner in the 43rd minute. Hudson-Odoi did well to pick up an assist in the second half.
The Spaniard added some bite and steel to Thomas Tuchel‘s midfield.
Alonso orchestrated some decent chances for his teammates to score.
He struggled to get a foothold in the game.
