Jorge Sánchez is likely going through the toughest moments of his career at this very moment and manager Miguel Herrera has vowed to punish the player after his latest actions.

In addition to being largely blamed for losing the 2019 Apertura final, due to his monumental error that allowed Rayados to level late in the contest, he set a club record for the earliest expulsion in history in Saturday’s historic defeat against FC Juárez.

Just 20 seconds into their stunning 3-1 loss, Sánchez recklessly dug his studs into the leg of Mauro Fernández, which earned him a red card following a VAR review.

At just 22 years old, Sánchez has already seen red five times in just over 100 games in his professional career.

That being said, the Mexico international is surely one of the best wing-backs in the league, so his starting place should not be in jeopardy unless further character issues arise.
