Jorge Sánchez has enjoyed a stellar international break with Mexico but was forced to return to América early after suffering muscular discomfort.
Sánchez was not included in the Mexico side during their 3-0 win over Honduras and has been ruled out for Wednesday’s clash with El Salvador.
During the week, medical exams will be carried out to determine the severity of the injury and to know if he will be available for Saturday’s duel with Atlético San Luis.
The general consensus is that he is doubtful to play due to América’s busy schedule and, most notably, the Concacaf Champions League final on October 28th in Monterrey.
With 120 games with América, a contract running until 2025, and 18 caps to his name, the Eagles will want to protect one of their most valuable assets as much as possible as the European transfer window opens up in January.
