Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has admitted he is getting bored of the speculation surrounding Neymar’s future.
Neymar has been heavily linked with a return to Barça this summer, two years after leaving the club in a world record €222m switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Brazilian has also been linked with a move to the Blaugrana’s fierce rivals Real Madrid, with various reports on Sunday suggesting the Bernabéu is now his most likely destination.
But Alba has grown disillusioned by the constant rumours.
“It’s already tiring,” the Spaniard told Marca.
“We have to wait until the window closes. He’s a great player. It’s the club’s decision. If he comes, great, but we have to wait and everyday there’s talk of a different team.”
Ernesto Valverde’s side were stunned with a 1-0 defeat away at Athletic Club in Friday evening’s LaLiga opener. The reigning champions lost Luis Suárez to injury and were beaten by a late goal from substitute Aritz Aduriz.
“The intensity was good,” said Alba.
“But in some parts of the game we lacked concentration and we didn’t have clear ideas when it came to attacking.
“But LaLiga has just started, we’ll get better. We have a lot to improve.”
