Marseille midfielder Jordan Veretout, who suffered an injury the Olympian’s quarter-final exit in the Coupe de France against Annecy on Wednesday, feared he may have suffered an ankle sprain. However, the news on Thursday was positive for the midfielder, as he reported feeling much better. This was as reported by L’Équipe.

Veretout, who left the pitch grimacing, had been worried that he had sustained a serious injury. However, medical tests revealed that the former Roma player did not have a sprain, and he is expected to train with Igor Tudor’s squad on Friday.

If everything goes well, Veretout should be available for selection for Sunday’s match against Rennes. This will be welcome news among what has become a rather season de-railing week for OM, who first lost Le Classique and what looks to be the end of a brief Ligue 1 title race last weekend in decisive fashion (0-3) at the Vélodrome. This was before being knocked out the Coupe de France by Ligue 2 Annecy after having beaten Rennes and PSG in the previous rounds of the competition.
