Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan says Everton fans shouldn't be targeting Bill Kenwright.

Kenwright was seen speaking with supporters after the 1-0 home defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.

In a video shared on social media , fans chanted 'let go if you love the club' toward the Blues chairman outside of Goodison Park.

“It's unfathomable to blame Bill Kenwright for (Farhad) Moshiri and his choices," Jordan told talkSPORT. “Moshiri is a big boy with big bags of money.

“If he wants to bring people like Kia Joorabchian around him and take their influence; if he wants to curtail - if we are to believe that - to Bill Kenwright and others, then who do you blame?

“You don't blame the minions for Boris Johnson's running of this country. You blame Boris Johnson. So you blame Moshiri."

When it was suggested by ex-Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy that the frustration was due to Kenwright being pictured alongside Moshiri, Jordan responded: "So he's that weak is he, Moshiri? He's made this amount of money by being that weak?"

“I don't think Moshiri has listened to Bill at all," Murphy said.

To which Jordan replied, “Neither do I, so then don't take it out on Bill."
