Jordan Lukaku has joined Spanish second division side SD Ponferradina on a one-year deal.
The Belgian entered the transfer window as a free agent after his contract expired at Lazio, who have loaned him out for the past two years to Antwerp and Vicenza.
He’s now joined a new permanent club for the time since signing for the Italian giants back in 2016, with Ponferradina giving the 28-year-old a one-year contract.
There was at one point talk that he’d return to Belgium, where he has played his trade for Anderlecht, Oostende and Antwerp, but he’ll instead play in Spain for the first time in his career.
At the age of 28, he still has some time to get his career back on track, but at this point, it seems unlikely the brother of Romelu will ever add to the eight caps he has to his name for the Belgian national team.
