Brentford have announced the signing of veteran midfielder Jordan Henderson on a two-year deal.
Henderson joined the club on a free transfer after rescinding his contract with Ajax which still had one year remaining.
The former Liverpool man joined Ajax midway through the 2023/24 campaign after a short stint in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ettifaq. During his time in the Netherlands, Henderson played 57 games in total, scoring once on his final appearance for the club.
"I’m delighted that I’m here; I’m very excited to get started and get going," Henderson said on his return to the Premier League.
"I’ve always had huge admiration for the club and what they’ve achieved over the last few years, in particular, how they’ve grown as a club.
"I’ve been told how organised and well-run the club is, it’s very family-oriented, which I think is very important."
Henderson is Brentford's fifth signing of the summer window and will help fill the void following Christian Norgaard's departure.
