Jonathan Rowe (21) was absent from Norwich’s opening game of the season against Oxford United. The Canaries travelled to Kassam Stadium this afternoon where they were defeated 2-0 by the newly promoted club. However, their journey was without Rowe who has been the subject of a bid from Olympique de Marseille.
It was widely reported in England and France that Marseille had made contact with Norwich over the left-winger who has also been a target for Leeds United. And it appears as if Rowe has reciprocated the French side’s interest, with the winger ruling himself out of the game with Sky Sports reporting that he is attempting to force a move away from the Championship club.
Rowe would be an interesting choice for Marseille and would compete with Luis Henrique (22) on the left of the attack. Henrique has struggled to make a significant impact on the team since making his return from a loan back to Brazil with Botafogo in January. 24 appearances for Les Phocéens resulted in only one goal and no assists.
