Jonathan David could be of the best bargains of the summer transfer window, and a lot of clubs fighting for his signature.

Lille's star striker has 12 months left on his current contract and could be on the way to the Premier League. He registered 26 goals in 46 appearances last season, making his prospective move to England an exciting concept.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham have all at least been linked with the forward. But where will David play next season, and which club would suit him best?

5. Aston Villa

Aston Villa have previously shown interest in David, but seemed to have turned shy in their approach for the striker recently. Unai Emery's side already rely on the expertise of Ollie Watkins, meaning if David was to choose Villa he may become an understudy to the England star. There's lots of fixtures on the calendar for Villa in the 2024/25 season - but a move for David just doesn't seem to be at the top of their priority list.Good fit rating: 3/10

4. Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham could reignite their interest in David, who was first touted as a target during Fabio Paratici's time with the recruitment team.Spurs could be the ideal place for the Lille player, his style of football suits the way that Ange Postecoglou likes to play and he could represent one of the better options in the dry striker market of current. However, the club still seem determined to strengthen their wing options first, and are keen on a move for Eberechi Eze above all else. Good fit rating: 5/10

3. Manchester United

Man Utd will look to refresh their squad ahead of the new campaign, and may view David as a strong option up front. Rasmus Hojlund remains a useful option at Old Trafford, but the club seem keen to bolster their attacking threat. They remain very interested in Joshua Zirkzee, however, and may only approach David if a move for the Bologna striker falls through.David wouldn't be an immediate star at United, and would need to adjust to the Premier League, but could be a good backup choice. Good fit rating: 6/10

2. Chelsea

Chelsea are edging closer on finalising a deal for Barcelona's Marc Guiu, but will still continue in their search for a striker. While a move to Stamford Bridge may seem exciting, David could struggle to make regular appearances among Chelsea's full squad, despite being a bargain. However, if the Blues are looking to increase their attacking power, David could be the answer. Good fit rating: 7/10

1. West Ham

West Ham are set to begin a new journey under manager Julen Lopetegui, and so may look to make some changes to their lineup. The Hammers' interest in David makes sense. He could rival the ageing Michael Antonio and Danny Ings to play in attack and would certainly warrant a place in the starting lineup. David would become one of the club's top earners, which could pose an issue, but could be worth every penny if he is able to catapult West Ham to success. Good fit rating: 8/10
