Juventus are on the cusp of signing Jonathan David on a deal that could have a significant impact on Manchester United’s transfer campaign.
The 25-year-old saw out his contract with LOSC Lille, making him one of the most sought-after free agents on the market. Man Utd were one of the clubs linked with David, but there were never any concrete developments on that track, as INEOS set their sights on alternative targets.
On Wednesday morning, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Canadian is all set to complete a free transfer to Juventus, thus chopping off another name on MUFC’s attacking shortlist.
Nevertheless, this operation could be key for United to conclude two important operations.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus continue to push for Jadon Sancho, and will soon accelerate their attempts to land the Man Utd outcast.
As the source explains, the Serie A giants consider signing a new striker as their absolute priority. So now that they have found their man in David, they can turn their attention towards other positions, beginning with the attacking midfielder/winger role, where Sancho has been identified as the leading candidate.
The London native returned from a tepid loan spell at Chelsea, but has been told to find a new club, as Ruben Amorim has no desire to reinstate him. The Reds are willing to sell the player for £25 million, but it remains to be seen if he’s willing to lower his wages to facilitate the transfer to Turin.

On another note, David’s imminent arrival at Juventus means the club will be even more determined to offload Dusan Vlahovic as soon as possible, as they can no longer afford to keep him and his hefty wages on the wage bill.
According to the Manchester Evening News, this could prove to be the perfect opportunity for Man Utd to poach the Serbian striker on a cut price. The 25-year-old’s contract is set to expire in June 2026, which is another factor driving his market value south.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that the former Fiorentina man has been producing underwhelming displays over the past year or so; hence, he might represent a risk for United.
