Lille star Jonathan David has addressed his club future after being continuously linked with an exit.
The 24-year-old striker was rumoured to depart Ligue 1 for the Premier League or Serie A but now appears to be staying in France.
David registered his third goal in a week plus an assist during his side’s 2-0 victory in Champions League qualifying on Tuesday before addressing his future.
“There’s still a good chance that I’ll still be in Lille. My desire? I’m happy here,” the Canada international said.
“I’m still under contract, we don’t know what the future holds. I still have one year of contract, if I can spend it here, that’s good.”
Clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United, Inter and Roma have been reported to monitor the striker’s situation.
He sits only behind Alexander Sørloth for most goals in 2024, level with Harry Kane and ahead of Erling Haaland.
David’s current contract with Lille runs until 2025.
