Sport Bild report that Jonathan David is a candidate for Bayern Munich should Robert Lewandowski leave.

The Bundesliga side are expecting an improved offer from Barcelona for Lewandowski, who is pushing for a transfer away from the Allianz Arena with one-year remaining on his current deal.

Barcelona’s third bid for Lewandowski is expected to be an initial €40m excluding bonuses, a fee that’s close to Bayern’s €50m valuation of the 33-year-old, who will not sign a contract extension.

Per the report, Bayern have now added David to their list as potential replacements as they prepare for the eventual departure of Lewandowski. Also on that list is Stuttgart striker Saša Kalajdžić, with initial discussions having already taken place.

However, it’s recently been suggested that Bayern bosses aren’t that keen on Kalajdžić as a replacement for Lewandowski.

As a replacement, David scored 15 goals in 38 Ligue 1 games last season and has scored 32 goals in 96 games across all competitions for Lille since his €27m from KAA Gent in 2020.
