Centre-back Jonatan Maidana is the only player from either team that has featured in the Superclásico for both sides.

Although Lucas Pratto was under contract at Boca from 2007 to 2011, he rarely played for the Xeneizes and never participated in the clash that paralyses the country.

Jonathan Maidana today leads the back line for River Plate, but his first experience in the Argentine derby was in a Boca shirt.

Maidana has featured in 17 official Superclásico matches – 15 for River Plate and two for Boca Juniors.

His derby record for River Plate is a curious five wins, five losses, and five draws.

The five victories he experienced for River came in the 2010 Apertura (1-0 with his header), in the 2014 Torneo Final (2-1), the first leg of the 2014 Copa Libertadores (1-0), in the 2016/17 Championship (3- 1 in La Bombonera), and the 2018 Supercopa Argentina (2-0).

On the other hand, Maidana won once and lost once with the blue and yellow in the 2007/08 season.

In their Apertura campaign, Boca lost 2-0 in the Monumental. In the following tournament, however, they recovered and celebrated a 1-0 win.

In 246 matches all-time, Boca Juniors have been the better side winning 88 times. River Plate has won on 81 occasions, while the teams have shared the spoils 77 times.
