L’Équipe report this afternoon that Borussia Mönchengladbach have reached an agreement with Montpellier over the signing of Swiss goalkeeper Jonas Omlin.
The former Basel man makes the move to the Die Fohlen as Yann Sommer prepares to leave for Bayern Munich, replacing the injured Manuel Neuer.
The transfer is set to be completed for €8m, with Omlin leaving with a year and a half left on his deal. Omlin, who leaves Ligue 1 having made 74 appearances for La Paillade in over two years, will be replaced by Monaco’s Benjamin Lecomte, who makes a return to the Hérault outfit after a spell between 2017 and 2019.
Montpellier, who have let in nine goals in their last two Ligue 1 games, currently sit in 15th place and just two points above the relegation zone. Mönchengladbach, meanwhile, find themselves in the race for European football, sitting in eighth place in the Bundesliga.
