Jon Uriarte declared new president of Athletic Bilbao

Athletic Bilbao have announced Jon Uriarte as the winner of the 2022 Presidential Elections.

A total of 23,506 votes were cast by Club Members at San Mamés on the day of the elections.

Uriarte and his Board of Directors will have a four-year term in office.

The poll ran as:

- Jon Uriarte received 10,979 votes (46.71%)

- Iñaki Arechabaleta received 7,927 votes (33.72%)

- Ricardo Barkala received 4,262 votes (18.13%)

- There were 213 blank votes.

- There were 125 invalid votes

Uriarte's election is a surprise, with Barkala having been regarded as favourite by local media.
