Norwich City are just one game away from the play-offs as they look to win promotion to the Premier League, and the future seems bright at Carrow Road for a number of reasons.

Baring a last-day disaster, the Canaries will be competing in the play-offs later this month, and given the lack of form teams around them, they could well surprise a few people and win promotion to the Premier League.

A number of first-team players have really stepped up in recent times, and there's reason to suggest that there could be a special player coming through the ranks at Carrow Road.

17-year-old Elliot Myles signed a professional contract with the Canaries on his 17th birthday, and he's impressed for the club's academy sides this season. The attacker, who can play left wing and attacking midfield, is clearly highly rated by those at the club, and looks set for a big future in the game.

Having come through the ranks at Norwich City, Elliot Myles made his debut for the Canaries' U18 side at just 15 last season, showing how well thought of he is at the club.

He impressed too, scoring five times in 14 appearances in the 2022/23 Under 18's Premier League, and it wasn't long before he received international honours, for not one but two countries.

Myles is eligible to represent both England and Wales, and he did so last season, playing for both nations' U16 sides.

He continued to improve this season, and was given a professional deal by Norwich on his 17th birthday. Players are unable to sign a professional contract until they turn 17, so Norwich appear very keen to tie him down on a long-term basis.

After impressing for the club's U18 side, scoring five goals and registering two assists in eight games, he was promoted to the club's U21 side, and he's performed well there too.

Usually being used on the left wing, he's registered two goals and registered one assist in ten games, and if he continues developing at this rate, it would be no surprise to see him involved in David Wagner's first-team in pre-season and in the early rounds of cup competitions next season.

Myles has also thrived on the international stage, and has helped lead Wales to the European Under-17 Championship this summer, and in total he's registered six goals in 11 caps for Wales U17's.

It wouldn't be a surprise if Myles was the subject of a battle between Wales and England in years to come, and a big Euros campaign this summer will almost certainly raise his stock.

Norwich should be excited about his potential, and it probably won't be too long until he's in the first-team environment.

Elliot Myles is a very similar player to Jon Rowe in terms of position and playing style, and if Rowe were to depart in the future, it looks as if the Canaries have a ready-made replacement.

Rowe is four years older than Miles, so the Welsh age-grade international has plenty of time to develop into a player with the quality to match him, and the pair have similar stats for Norwich's academy sides.

Rowe has recently returned from injury, and is yet to force his way back into David Wagner's starting XI, but it won't be long until he's back at his best and adding to the 13 goals he'd scored before his injury in February.

Norwich's academy has developed some great players in recent times, and it looks as if Myles will be the next one.

If everything goes to plan, it shouldn't be too long until he's competing with Rowe for a place in the club's first-team squad or potentially replacing him.
