The efforts of Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb to lure national icon Luka Modrić to the club with a view to next season have gone viral on Saturday.

This comes after club president Velimir Zajec took matters into his own hands amid the club’s ongoing pursuit of the veteran midfielder.

It is of course common knowledge across the continent that, as things stand, Modrić’s legendary stint on the books of Real Madrid is due to come to a close this summer.

As much comes ahead of the expiration of his contract terms in June.

The 38-year-old himself is understood to be eager to stay put for another season, a possibility which has as of yet not been entirely ruled out by the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu.

As alluded to above, though, one individual evidently desperate for Real and Modrić to go their separate ways over the coming months comes in the form of Velimir Zajec.

As revealed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Zajec, president of Croatian heavyweights Dinamo Zagreb, purchased a full-page advertisement in the latest edition of Madrid-based newspaper Marca.

The ad in question features a ‘Modrić 10’ jersey, accompanied by the caption:

“Join us! It makes sense, all the possible sense in the world”
