Jordan Henderson has been a Liverpool player since 2011.

Since then, Henderson has gone on to achieve plenty at Anfield. Henderson has been the captain of the club since July 2015.

Henderson has also led the Reds to the four major trophies.

However, if Liverpool owner John W. Henry got his way, things could have worked out very differently for Henderson.

According to The Independent’s Tony Evans, as cited by Twitter account @TheAnfieldTalk, Henry wanted Henderson to be sold before Jurgen Klopp was appointed as the manager of the club. Klopp arrived at Anfield back in October 2015.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We are grateful that Henry did not get his way. As we have already pointed out, Henderson has been a fine leader for the Reds.

Henderson has also been a very good footballer for the club. As you can see in the footage below, which has been provided by club’s official YouTube account, Henderson has scored some superb goals for the Reds.

One area of Henderson’s game that we hold in high regard is his passing ability. Henderson completed 87.3 percent of his passes during the 2020-21 Premier League campaign, which backs up the aforementioned argument.
