RWDM have a second shot at promotion on Friday evening. After missing out last weekend against Patro Eisden, the Brussels side welcome Lommel to Brussels in the Belgian second tier. RWDM, owned by Lyon man John Textor, were relegated from the Pro League after just one season during the 2023/2024 campaign. They have managed to regather themselves under Yannick Ferrera and look set to bounce back at the first time of asking.

RWDM currently sit one point ahead of Zulte Waregem in second, with both clubs having the opportunity to win and secure their promotion this weekend. With the last game of the season being a clash between these two sides, fans and players of both clubs will be keen to avoid having to win that final game to gain promotion. The other contender for the Pro League is RAAL La Louviere. RAAL have played one game more than the other two, so will be hoping that both lose this weekend to keep their chances alive. They are currently level on points with Zulte Waregem and just behind RWDM. If neither side are able to secure victory this weekend, RAAL will suddenly be in pole position to overtake one of the two sides, depending on the result of the final game of the season between them.

RWDM, however, are unbeaten in their last two matches with Lommel. Back in August they beat the side 2-0 away from home. This week they have signalled that they do not want any distractions going in to the clash, with striker Soufiane Benjdida having been sent back to parent club Standard Liege after punching a teammate.

A sell out crowd is expected to turn up in Brussels on Friday evening, hoping to celebrate another promotion to the top flight.
