Harry Kane is currently in Qatar for the World Cup, looking to go one better with his England side who fell agonisingly short in their pursuit of silverware in the most recent Euros.

It was the perfect start for the Three Lions, who brushed aside Iran 6-2 in a professional performance that was more like a training session for Gareth Southgate’s men.

They’re in action this evening as they take on USA, looking to secure their place in the knockout rounds with a game to spare.

Harry Kane future

On beIN Sports, John Terry and David Villa were in the studio for the games on Thursday which included the likes of Portugal, Brazil and Uruguay, but at full time, attentions were turning to the England game.

The future of Harry Kane was on the agenda, with Barcelona icon Villa saying he could see him at the Bernabeu, playing for Real Madrid in the future.

Former Chelsea skipper John Terry weighed in on discussions, agreeing with the thoughts of the former Spanish striker, but also getting a cheap shot in at his old rivals.

What did John Terry say about Harry Kane?

Following up from Villa’s comments, Terry jumped in: “I could see it, I think he’s got ambitions of going and winning trophies, he’s clearly not going to win trophies playing with Spurs is he? Whether that’s four or five or six years.

“He’s not though is he, let’s be honest. Not clearly but any chance I get to have a pop at Spurs I will. Let’s be honest with ourselves, like David said, he’s one of the best strikers in the world, probably the best number nine in the world at the moment.

“He wants to win trophies, he wants to play for the best and biggest teams, Spurs are not that, Spurs aren’t going to give him trophies, what he wants. He wants to finish his career with some trophies, something he can look back on.”

He clearly was never going to resist a chance like that, served up to him on a silver platter, but he clearly feels strongly that Kane won’t get the trophies he wants come the end of his career if he stays loyal to his current club.

There’s no doubting he could take a step up in terms of club, making a move to a team who are serious challengers for the top, top prizes in the sport.
