Nottingham Forest may have exited the FA Cup on Sunday evening, but they left with their heads held very much highly.
Two teams nicknamed the Reds and who are steeped in history clashed at the City Ground and at times you wouldn’t have thought that Forest were a Championship side as they served it up to former Premier League champions Liverpool.
Unfortunately the fire-power of Jurgen Klopp’s side proved too much in the end, with Diogo Jota’s goal being the difference despite it looking initially offside.

Liverpool’s winner only came when they brought some big guns on, such as Jordan Henderson and Luis Diaz – up until then they Merseyside outfit were being contained by Forest and a lot of that had to do with their skipper Joe Worrall.
The 25-year-old has been influential under Steve Cooper all season and kept Liverpool very quiet, and his performance at the weekend was noted as he was awarded ITV’s Man of the Match award.
Another person who recognised Worrall’s efforts on the night was former England captain John Terry, who sent a three-word message to the Forest man following his performance.
The Verdict
After his showing against some of the world’s best players, Worrall will now have no shortage of suitors in the summer.
Premier League clubs have seemingly been watching the towering centre-back for some time now, and with a big audience watching on against Liverpool his talents will not be a secret anymore.
It spoke volumes that Worrall was named Man of the Match when usually it goes to a player from the winning team, such was the dominance he posed at the back.
And when a player like John Terry can praise you and notice what you’ve done then you are definitely doing something right.
