John Aldridge praises Liverpool fringe player for pushing on senior star
Anfield Watch
Former Liverpool forward John Aldridge has praised Kostas Tsimikas for his role in helping push Andy Robertson on in terms of form this season.
The two left-backs enjoy a healthy rivalry in competing for the left-back spot in the side and it is clear that both have the trust of Jurgen Klopp.
Indeed, when Tsimikas has played this season he has done really well for Liverpool, with some even suggesting that he should remain in the team.
Robertson, though, has upped his game further too and Aldridge says the Greek is part of the reason for that:
Tsimikas is a very handy player to have around and would be good enough to play for most Premier League sides.
However, he is at Liverpool and has a top player to compete with him in Robertson.
As Aldridge says, though, that is what it should be like at the club.
