It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since Johan Cruyff, one of football’s greatest icons, passed away at the age of 68.
The recognised IFFHS European Player of the Century won three Ballon d’Or awards in four years, narrowly missing out on four in a row, and won an unbelievable 18 trophies with Ajax alone (22 in total), including three European Cups.
As a manager, Cruyff won three trophies with Ajax and 11 more with Barcelona and is widely accepted as both one of the greatest players and managers of all-time.
Five years on, we remember one of the prolific players in the game’s history by showcasing five of his best goals in an Ajax shirt.
In total, Cruyff scored 188 goals and dished out 125 assists in 283 career appearances in Amsterdam.
