Joe Gomez names former Liverpool footballer as the best player he has played with | OneFootball

Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez was recently asked to name the best footballer that he has ever played with.

Gomez went on to reveal to YouTube channel VERSUS, as cited by The Anfield Talk’s Twitter account, that former Liverpool midfielder Phillipe Coutinho is the best player that he has ever taken to the field with.

Liverpool signed Coutinho from Inter Milan for a transfer fee of €13 million back in January 2013.

However, Liverpool ended up selling the midfielder to Barcelona for a transfer fee of €135 million when the January transfer window opened in 2018.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We are not shocked to hear that Coutinho is the best footballer that Gomez has ever played with.

The Brazilian was a superb player for the Reds. The 29-year-old scored 54 goals and registered 45 assists in 201 appearances for the club.

As you can see in the footage below, which has been provided by YouTube account Clinical Reds, Coutinho made the difficult look easy in a red shirt.

It was just a shame that Coutinho did not hang around Anfield for a bit longer. We loved watching him play.
