Joe Allen has praised his Wales teammates Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey and believed they have more than proved themselves at Euro 2020.

Ramsey scored during their 2-0 win over Turkey on Wednesday, while Real Madrid winger Bale provided two assists in a results which all but guarantees their place in the last-16 of the tournament.

Robert Page’s side take on Italy on Sunday with a spot as group winners up for grabs.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the meeting with the Italians, Allen stated: “I think some people probably had the narrative drawn up long before that game.

“When you’re world-class players like Gareth and Aaron the focus is always going to be on you.

“I think the pair of them were incredible the other night and certainly answered the critics in special fashion.”

Wales will have to beat Roberto Mancini’s men to finish top of Group A.
