The second part of Joao Mario’s interview with Spanish news outlet Marca has been released and the Portuguese midfielder discussed what he found difficult whilst at Inter.
“Unfortunately, I arrived at the club when there was no stability; while I was playing for Inter, there were four managerial changes. It is difficult to say objectively when I decided to leave. There were certain circumstances,” he explained.
“In Italy, a lot of attention is paid to tactics. A player has no freedom, everything depends on the concept of the game and the rigorous implementation of tactics. There is also a great preference for more physical play rather than technical play. I still know a lot of people at the club as it obviously has not been long since I left.”
He also spoke on how he was received upon joining Lokomotiv Moscow.
“I was very flattered by the way Lokomotiv presented me. It was interesting and unusual and I must give thanks to those who worked on this. I did not expect the reception that I was given, it was fantastic. I was warmly welcomed not only by the fans but the team and all the staff too. I was made to feel at home.”
