Atletico Madrid have no intention to sell Joao Felix this summer, but his agent is pushing for a move, and Champions League qualification is pivotal.

Goal report that Atletico Madrid CEO Gil Marin currently has no intention of selling Joao Felix. But Felix’s agent Jorge Mendes is pushing for a move.

For the time being, Atletico have no want or need to sell, but Goal suggest it will be a different story if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Football.London recently reported that Arsenal are interested in Felix as they pursue two forwards in the summer market.

Miguel Delaney had previously claimed that Felix had been offered to Arsenal. If that’s the case, it seems much more likely Mendes was the one making the offer, not Atletico.

At the time, Delaney suggested it was unclear whether or not the Gunners were actually keen, but it seems Football.London believe they are.

Felix cost Atletico over £100m to sign, and they’ll be keen to recoup as much as possible.

Arsenal’s relationship with Atletico is probably somewhat frosty at the moment.

The Spanish club didn’t handle Lucas Torreira’s loan very well, messing Arsenal around in negotiations over a permanent deal, and Arsenal responded by activating Thomas Partey’s release clause on deadline day.

Felix’s form has picked up lately, but seven goals and five assists in 27 games is also a little low for a £100m player.

All the same, there is little denying Felix’s talent, and at 22 years old you’d imagine he’s only going to get better.
