After several days without updates on potential new signings in light of Savinho’s arrival at the Etihad Stadium, Monday has brought about exactly the opposite.

Manchester City have been linked with transfer interest in all of a new first-team goalkeeper to challenge Stefan Ortega, a creative midfielder long-admired and considered last summer, as well as a new attacking talent to presumably succeed Julian Alvarez.

As always, there was even more discussion surrounding the potential of big-name departures from the Etihad Stadium, with both Kevin De Bruyne and Mateo Kovacic linked with their respective prospect of fresh challenges.

Arrivals

Manchester City have approached Gianluigi Donnarumma as an option in case Ederson leaves for Saudi Arabia. The 25-year-old is happy at PSG and has held early-stage discussions about extending his contract, but is interested in playing in the Premier League at some stage. (Ben Jacobs, X)

Departures

Kevin De Bruyne has held talks with unnamed clubs in Saudi Arabia over a move at the end of his current Manchester City contract in 2025. The midfielder could earn €150 million over two years in the middle-east. The chance of a transfer this summer is small. (Nieuwsblad Sport)

Al Ittihad will negotiate with Manchester City again for Ederson this week, with an asking price of around €50 million. The goalkeeper has already accepted the move. (Fabrizio Romano, X)

Borussia Dortmund have made contact with Manchester City to discuss a deal for Yan Couto. The Bundesliga side have no intention of paying a €40 million release clause, and are negotiating a price, with Couto keen. Dortmund plan to invest around €20 million to €25 million. (Fabrizio Romano, X)

Rico Lewis on his Manchester City future: “I’m 100% in the right place… To be honest I need to continue what I’m doing. The main thing is to be patient and wait for the chances to come. They might not come often but when they do come you need to take them.
