Joao Felix is set to return to Atletico Madrid this summer, with new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino not keen on the forward.

Felix was one of the high-profile movers in the January transfer market, making a move to Stamford Bridge on loan until the end of the season, with Chelsea paying a loan fee of around £10 million to win the race for his services.

The forward was sent off on his debut, earning himself a three-match ban in the process, and while he has since shown flashes of his talent, he only managed four goals in 16 appearances for the Blues.

During his time in West London, Felix has already worked under Graham Potter and Frank Lampard, though according to Atletico Madrid president, Enrique Cerezo, newly appointed Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino, does not want the Portuguese ahead of next season.

“The truth is that I can’t tell you the plan with Joao,” Cerezo said, as per ESPN.

“The news that we received yesterday is that the new manager doesn’t count on him at Chelsea.

“We don’t have anything planned, Joao is an Atletico player for now.”

Before joining Chelsea, Felix signed a new deal at Atletico as the Spanish side looked to retain the forward’s value, with the Madrid side having spent €126 million to sign the forward for Benfica in 2019.

Chelsea have struggled for goals all season, ending the campaign having netted 38 Premier League goals, just two more than Erling Haaland managed on his own for Manchester City.

The Blues have already agreed a deal to sign Christopher Nkunku this summer, while Romelu Lukaku is currently scheduled to return following his season-long loan at Inter Milan.
