Joao Felix to Chelsea deal confirmed by top sources – with one big contract twist | OneFootball

Fabrizio Romano has just confirmed the news about a Joao Felix move to Chelsea – and there’s an interesting twist.

The details of the deal seem to be largely as we’ve heard them in the last 24 hours. It’s a loan deal, with Chelsea paying the midfielder’s wages plus €11m to get him for 6 months. It’s a serious loan fee, but he’s a top player.

We’ve already seen footage this morning of Felix heading to London for his medical and to sign his contract.

What’s interesting is the other detail here – that Felix will sign a new Atletico contact taking him to 2027.

In many cases this is standard – we’ve seen Chelsea extend the deals of players they know they’re never going to use to just so they don’t keep loaning them until the current deal runs out.
