Following his successful return from ankle surgery, João Félix is raring to go against one of his more familiar foes, Porto.

Of course, João Félix knows all about Atlético Madrid’s Champions League opponents, having featured for rivals Benfica and scoring once in two matchups.

With Liverpool and AC Milan also in Group B, Atlético will be determined to earn all three points on Wednesday night.

“We have a difficult group and we will face teams that are the best in their countries,” he said in his pre-match press conference.

“They will be very disputed games, but we will do our job to win the three points in each game.

“FC Porto? It’s a team I know well, their characteristics and their way of playing. I’m prepared for the game.

“It (ankle surgery) was a difficult time, it’s never easy to play without being well. But I did it of my own free will and to help the team.

“Now I’m fine, recovered and I’m just focused on doing things well this season.

“I feel good, I haven’t felt so good for a long time, with the freedom to make certain movements that I couldn’t do with the pain before.

“I feel that my game is coming back and I hope to be more prepared than ever for this season.”

João Félix made his season debut over the weekend, featuring for 31 minutes in a 2-1 win over Espanyol.
