João Cancelo linked with move to Saudi Arabia – despite rumours of a return to Barcelona | OneFootball

João Cancelo has been left in something of a limbo since his loan at Barcelona came to an end last season. Unwanted at Manchester City, the Portuguese star is now in search of his next move.

Despite being rumoured to return to Barcelona, another potential destination has arisen through some of the more recent reports regarding Cancelo’s future.

As per Marca, the destination in question is Saudi Arabia, where Al-Hilal are said to be interested in a move for the 30-year-old.

The other option for Cancelo is to stay at Man City, where, despite not being Pep Guardiola’s number one choice, the manager assured that there is still room.

Guardiola said: “What will happen depends on his agents and the club. In the end, if he has to stay, we will treat him like all the other players, with respect, and we will try to get the best out of the enormous qualities that he has.”

Monitoring the negotiations that take place surrounding the Portuguese wing-back’s future will be an interesting prospect, as there are plenty of potential destinations for the 30-year-old.
