Barcelona president Joan Laporta has expressed his strong confidence in manager Hansi Flick and the players ahead of their important UEFA Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park this Wednesday.

Laporta, who was spotted as he entered the team’s concentration hotel after a short walk with a few trusted colleagues, spoke optimistically about the squad’s mood.

He mentioned that the players are in a positive state, with a good atmosphere within the team and high morale as they prepare for the upcoming challenge.

“They are good, there is a good atmosphere and we continue with high morale,” said the Barcelona president as quoted by SPORT.

Appreciating the fans

Laporta also took the opportunity to thank the fans for their unwavering support, expressing his appreciation for the way they always stand by the team and coach Hansi Flick.

The president expressed his gratitude “for always being with the players and with the coach (Hansi Flick).”

It is to be noted that around 3,000 Barcelona supporters are expected to be present in Dortmund to cheer on the team, a testament to the loyal fanbase that continues to back the club in every competition.

Meanwhile, the team faced a minor disturbance late in the evening when some individuals, believed to be Borussia Dortmund fans, caused a brief commotion near the hotel.

Firecrackers were set off in an attempt to disrupt the players’ rest, but this was nothing out of the ordinary, as such incidents are common in cities across Europe during high-profile matches.

Barcelona’s focus remains on securing three crucial points from this game, which would strengthen their position at the top of their Champions League group.

The primary goal for the team is to finish in the top eight of the group stage, ensuring they avoid the potentially challenging play-off round for the last 16.
