Germany boss Joachim Löw has revealed that Thomas Müller, Mats Hummels and Jérôme Boateng are all back in his plans again.
The veteran trio have been sidelined for the international side for almost two years, first being frozen out in March of 2019 as casualties of the previous year’s horror World Cup campaign.
But in an interview with kicker, the 61-year-old has admitted that he is willing to reconsider that tough selection stance.
“Special circumstances can justify an interruption in our upheaval plans,” Löw said when hinting that they could feature for Germany once more.
“That [the exiled trio] will be a difficult and important question for me too.
“If I think we still need some additional percentage or some energy providers, from a footballing or a leadership point of view then we won’t exclude anything, I can promise you that.”
When asked whether or not such big personalities could upset the order of things, the 2014 World Cup winner had no such concerns.
“The character of Müller and Hummels is such that they are not the kind to oppress others,” he added.
However, it has been ruled out that they could make their comeback in the World Cup qualifiers in March.
